(the Revd) Chip Edgar
Rector
Chip Edgar has been the Rector (Sr Pastor) of Church of the Apostles since March 2004. Chip and his wife, Beth have five children. "It can be kind of a zoo at our house," he says, "but my family is my greatest joy. I am so proud of my kids. And I resonate with St. John when he wrote, 'I have no greater joy than this: to hear that my children are walking in the truth' (3 John 4). Regarding the parish, Fr Edgar comments that "we are people who have benefited from God's grace, and we hope to be people who live that grace and make it known to others." Raised in Huntsville, Alabama, Chip received a BA in Physical Education from Wheaton College. He then worked as a Campus Minister for the Coalition for Christian Outreach before studying theology at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School andThe School of Theology at the university of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee. Chip was ordained a presbyter in May, 1994 and served parishes in Tennessee, Flroida, and Illinois before being called to Church of the Apostles.
