Melanie McGehee loves family. She credits Christian parents and a Southern Baptist church family in Spartanburg, SC, for giving her a solid foundation of biblical knowledge. While serving as pianist there, she was assigned the preschool choir and discovered that she loved them! Melanie gained further practical experience teaching the Bible to children through Bible Study Fellowship, serving five years in their preschool program. She credits Apostles for introducing her to liturgical worship – and wouldn’t a history major from Furman University appreciate such “ancient” traditions! It is with the faithful support of her husband Andy that she is able to now serve at Apostles in children’s ministry, and it is because of her son Ian that she realizes that children’s ministry is family ministry.
